"In Memory Of"

In this area we will list those classmates that, to our knowledge, are no longer with us. Although they are no longer here we want to be sure that they are remembered by those that knew them. If you have information about anyone please contact Margo so that we can be sure the list is accurate.

It is a sad day today. We lost another classmate this morning. Rick Miller (married to Barb Hale) was killed from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident at
12th and Gage this morning about 5:30. Our deepest condolences go out to Barb and her family.

Gin, no, I don't, just that she passed away. I'll ask some of the committee members and see if they know.

Gin, contact Mike Lindsey, about Linda Griffith. He posted a note on classmates, saying she wasn't doing very well. Glad to hear you're coming to the reunion, don't forget your camera. And yes, we will have some cold ones there.

Jane Burgess (pg 194, '66 Chevalier). I'm not surprised most of you don't remember her, but I do. She passed away in the fall of 1965. Self inflicted gunshot wound. I never did know why.

What happened to Linda Griffith??? I really liked her. We were sort of neighbors so sometimes we were on the way to school (Capper and High) at the same time. She looked like kind of a "wild child" from the outside but was really a sweet kid on the inside with not alot of options and resources. Her grandmother was raising her, which was unusual in those days. Rich Williams was her friend and he came over to her house one day when I was there just to see if she was OK after something upsetting had happened to her. Neither one of them would say exactly what. He was kind of a big brother to her and she relied on him for emotinal support. We made a deal one day that I would help her be a better student and she would teach me to be "Cool". We never really saw enough of each other to carry through with the idea but we meant well. I hope that she got off the ground and had a good life before she died. Maybe Rich kept in contact with her. I'd like to know more about her if anyone knows.

Please accept sympathies to all who have lost a friend, family member or loved one. I was very surprised to see so many that have passed on. It seems like only yesterday one or more of these classmates gave me smile, friendly "hi", or a smart a#s remark. (40 years pass quickly.)
I also remember Jane Burgess. I was not popular, and many times Jane would take the time to stop and talk to me. She had a sweet way about her, and a vulnerable side she didn't often show. I will always miss her and our talks. She was taken off this earth way to early. Lovingly, SG
