Just For Fun

This is where you can post any fun activities that you think others might enjoy. We will try to have at least one suggestion every couple of months but PLEASE feel free to post anything that you hear of in the area. A great band or art exhibit or new place to eat....fall festival or whatever. As a matter of fact, if you want to have a party and invite all of us that would be swell!!! Just give us the details!!!

If you don't live in the Topeka area and want to get your Denver or KC or LA friends together go ahead and put those activities here also.

Please put the date, time, place and any details someone might need such as reservations needed or cost or whatever.

Saturday night ..Aug. 23. Council Grove...Eastside Bar ..really good band that plays "our" music and a touch of country too. Nice size wooden dance floor and cheap beer...not too smokey. The band starts at 9:00. It's Clearview..you can google if you want to hear them. There are about 8 of us going that I know of. Let me know if you have questions. This would be nice drive through the Flint Hills and there are quite a few places to eat in Council Grove plus there are lots of historic sites in the area. Let me know if you have questions.

September 20. Paxico, Kansas

The Paxico Blues Festival is a wonderful event with a big crowd but plenty of room for your lawn chairs. They sell food and beer and I think wine... but lots bring their own coolers of beer and such. That makes the event free. We usually go in the late afternoon and then stay through the evening when the weather is cool. Some of us have gone for several years and always find a new "favorite" band!! Let me know if you want more details or to make a "meeting" spot !! Below are some websites to check out.

Hi, Terry. Nice to see you in the grocery store the other day. I would be at that Paxico Festival in a heartbeat except that is the Walnut Valley Festival weekend (better known as just "Winfield") and that is sacred time,... right Susie? Anyone else gonna be down by the Walnut River? I am camped with Camp Wooden-Head. So come in an say "hi", sit awhile, have a beer.
